Botox® cosmetic is the purified form of Botulinum toxin Type A, produced by the bacteria clostridium botulinum. Botox® is proven to be safe when used as directed and is approved by the FDA for the treatment of wrinkles.

Don’t buy into the common misconception that you’ll end up with a “frozen” face. Botox® doesn’t freeze your face at all, but simply prevents certain muscle groups from overacting and creating folds in your facial skin. Botox® is simple to administer and causes minimal discomfort, while yielding maximal results in three to six days after injection. Skin-smoothing results last up to three months with Botox®.

The aim of Botox® cosmetic is to eliminate wrinkle lines by temporarily relaxing the underlying muscles.

Xeomin is a medically derived sub-unit of botulinum toxin type a called incobotulinum toxin a. Fine lines and wrinkles higher up on the face are often the result of contracted muscles. After years of squinting our eyes and making facial expressions, these muscles might become permanently contracted. Once injected into the face, the neurotoxin within Xeomin® will block the chemical reactions that are causing muscle rigidity.

Xeomin® was recently approved by the FDA to treat the same cosmetic issues as Botox®. In many of the clinical studies conducted on Xeomin®, it was found that this product has the potential to be even more successful at treating facial anomalies including fine lines and wrinkles.
