Collagen Induction Therapy

We perform Microneedling with the InnoPen Microneedling device from Clinical Resolutions. This handheld device uses sterile, disposable tips. Each tip contains 12 “micro” needles to pierce the skin at very specific therapeutic depths.  The thousands of tiny needle pricks stimulate collagen and elastin production, while also creating receptor sites which easily absorb a variety of available serums including powerful PRP transformational serum. Microneedling is sometimes referred to as Collagen Induction Therapy or Skin Needling.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Conditions Does Microneedling Treat?

This treatment offers fantastic results for skin rejuvenation, texture refinement, reduction of sun damage, hyperpigmentation, rosacea, stretch marks and acne scarring revision. It is perfect for customers looking to boost tired dull skin, age prevention through to correcting existing lines and loss of contouring due to the aging process.

Who Is A Candidate for The Treatment?

Microneedling yields amazing results when treating those with mild to moderate skin laxity and/or acne scarring. Those with dark spots and sun damage respond very well to microneedling. Every skin type can benefit from the microneedling treatment, however those who have a history of Keloid issues should refrain. microneedling is perfect for those want great results, but do not wish to experience the downtime which is frequently associated with deeper laser resurfacing treatments.

What Can I Expect During the Treatment?

A topical anesthetic will be applied to the area being treated and will sit for approximately 20-30 minutes. The needling process itself usually takes: Small Area 15-20 minutes (Face) Medium Area 30-40 Minutes (Face and Full Neck) Treatement times are based on skin thickness and target issues. The microneedling pen will move quickly across the skin, and will feel somewhat prickly, but not very uncomfortable due to the numbing cream. Following the treatment, the technician will apply a serum or mask that compliments this process based on your skin needs to help provide extra collagen stimulation and anti-bacterial protection.

Is There Downtime After The Treatment?

Phase 1, Day 1 - 3: Inflammation stage where the platelets release growth factors which act as signals to the body’s immune system and white blood cells are sent in to clean up, increase the blood supply and begin the creation of fresh new skin. Some people experience itchiness, slight swelling and redness. These skin conditions begin to dissipate and you may go back to normal activities. Phase 2, Day 4-6: The Proliferation stage causes the fibroblasts, keratinocytes and epidermal cells to divide and populate and continue secreting growth factors and this is when new elastin and collagen will be laid down and deposited with new tissue formation. Some people experience a shedding of the old skin cells at this stage as the new skin is laid down. Phase 3, Day 7-30: Remodeling – during this phase the collagen in the newly formed tissue is replaced with even stronger collagen and the dermis contracts to create a youthful, firm but supple texture to the skin.

How Long Will it Take To See Results?

Although you will see a benefit after one treatment, we always recommend a course of at least 4 sessions over 4 months for maximum results. Results continue to improve for up to 6 months post treatment. After you achieve your desired result from the treatments, most patients only have a follow up treatment every 3-6 months for maintenance and to keep stimulating the skin to produce younger cells.
